“I was getting an MRI for another medical condition when they found a spot on my lung. It was recommended I come to UAMS. The Lord blessed me because they said it was one of the smallest lung cancers they have seen. They took out part of my lung, and I’ve been doing great ever since. That was a little over four years ago.
I’ve had a lot of support from my wife and five kids. They gave me the confidence to do the surgery right then. I made the best choice coming here because the doctors were great.
I’ve been working with kids since I was 26. It’s been four years since I’ve been able to do that, but I look forward to restarting that work. I have former RV park that I want to turn into an innovation center for the kids.
I’ve tried in the past to quit smoking, but it’s been hard. I got a prescription for a nicotine patch today, and I know it will help. The Lord didn’t keep me here for nothing. I’ve got a lot of work to do.”
